thanks Hankeys. id not thought to click on the help button. thanks for sharing your settings. now ive a better understanding and conclude you really want each strategy to be explored for a profitable option before allowing sq to dismiss it. At least this is my understanding of your settings. ive now put my settings almost as per the guidelines in the help section. as per below.
im interested to see what output i get now. failing that i will try your settings.1.16.2020 1:26pm in reply to: methods to decide when to remove a strategy from active portfolio #25520312.5.2019 10:05pm in reply to: Where/How to backtest a strategy with multiple charts? #254733
Thanks for that its great. Ive learnt more by studying what you gave. is there a manual somewhere i can read to help explain more of the options available? Im assuming i can use it as a template now to plug into builder to develop it further? Im also now trying to program in EhlerFisher transform into the SQX i have requested this in the road map section. How long can i expect to wait for it to be available?
Following on from this i would want a position to only be opened if the stochastic is rising or if the k is now above the d.
The settings im interested in is EMA – 9 period & Stochastics k=14 d=3 and slowing = 5
I would also like to only trade in the direction of the daily time frame. Therefore i would only like a trade to be opened if price on the daily time frame is a above a 20 period sma and also above a daily 9 ema
Ive produced some amazing startegies and back tested them on mt4 strategy tester. I have used birts data suite and used a-z invest.eu range bar tool as per guides on on sq and third party websites but not sure to best back test on SQ3. Im of the school of thought that its possible to perform all the standard monte carlo tests and also use differing range bars to match the same style of testing different time frame on time based charts and also different market. I fully understand its not possible to back test tick data of range on sq3 but are the results significantly different enough to discard the results. ive never bothered with tick data on sq3 even on time based charts. If im missing an understanding something in my knowledge to warrant holding off range bars until sqx permits please advise? or comment on my school of thought around testing workflows ive suggested.
Ok thanks. your mc test is that on mt4 back test?
I have an issue with strategies im generating in sq3. im wondering if you could help me shine the light on the problem? my sq generates some amazing strategies which when backtested in mt4 they just blow the account. this happens on lots of currency pairs like gbpnzd, gbpaud, euraud, eurnzd, usdjpy, audjpy, nzdjpy , eurjpy etc. any advice would be helpful? i also note this has only started to happen since i upgraded my computer.
Following from Ilya & Enric i have workflowed through to real test account.
please let me know what you think. good or bad
