Forex CFDs OR Forex

Hello everyone, I am new to the world of algorithmic trading and the question that arises is whether the strategies created in StrategyQuant for Forex with data downloaded from the Data Manager with Dukascopy are suitable for Forex CFDs or only for Forex?

I understand that there are brokers where you can trade Forex directly and others where you can trade Forex CFDs. Is that correct? Thank you in advance.

I think most people naturally think of cfds when you mention forex trading as that is where most people trade them.

Unless you’re American, in which trading forex might actually mean placing trades in the market as they dont have cfds. They could use options and futures though.

In regard to your question, I think the data should be fine as long as you use the correct timezone for your broker. Forex or forex cfd differences in data are pretty small in my opinion.
