Improved Percentage Risk Management for Metatrader 5 in StrategyQuant v141

We’ve made some key improvements in the percentage risk management for Metatrader 5, in StrategyQuant X (upcoming) version 141.

Contract Size Calculation Based on Metatrader 5 Mode

To ensure precise contract size calculations, we are now using Metatrader 5’s calculation mode. Depending on the type of instrument—whether it’s an index, stock, crypto, metal, commodity, currency, future, or CFD—the money management system will automatically adjust the contract size calculation accordingly.

 Account Currency Conversion

We’ve also added an enhancement that allows for the conversion of the traded instrument to the account currency:

  • This improvement enables us to trade instruments like futures quoted in USD while having an account currency in EUR.
  • Similarly, we can trade indices like the Japan Stock Index (Nikkei 225) with a quote currency in JPY and an account currency in EUR.

With this update, you can now directly view both the maximum money at risk and the maximum 1-lot drawdown in your account’s currency. This added transparency will make it easier to adjust the percentage of risk you wish to trade with.
