Hello everyone,

I’m new to StrategyQuant software and would appreciate some guidance. I’d like to test a basic DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) strategy similar to the one on 3Commas. I attempted to use the grid strategy template, but I noticed that the bot is selling even when the price is below the average buy price, causing the equity to decrease.

Additionally, I’m encountering challenges with crypto-specific settings, particularly with configuring lots and pips. Could someone advise which functions or settings I should adjust in the StrategyQuant Wizard to implement proper DCA logic? Specifically, I want the bot to place the next buy order at a specified percentage decrease in price.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Actually you can do DCA in SQX but there is currently a limit to the total amount of trades open set to 101. So SQX won’t open more trades than that. You would have to continuously closed some trades to stay below the limit. We will work on this to make SQX more DCA friendly

Seeking guidance on how to do a DCA strategy… I cannot get a $100 per trade (with $10,000 capital) strategy to do DCA on the SPY ETF!

The solution to your problem is actually very easy. Just calculate the order size before entering the market and the use “Define own size”.
