There are many ways to leverage artificial intelligence to enhance your MetaTrader 5 scripts, whether you’re fixing errors, adding new features, or simply seeking an assessment.

The top choices include GPT-4.0 with Canvas, available through an OpenAI subscription for about $20/month, and the GPT-4-O1 Preview.

However, the Anthropic Claude 3.5 console is even better, as you pay per use.

You just need to obtain an API key, enter your credit card info, and pay a small fee based on usage.

In my experience, ChatGPT often mixes MetaTrader 4 code into MetaTrader 5 code without much distinction, a mistake that Claude 3.5 avoids. Therefore, I generally recommend using Cllaude 3.5.

Here’s a tip:

Both models occasionally reach a point where they introduce errors that they cannot easily correct themselves. Even with Claude 3.5, you might encounter a situation where it introduces an error into the script and struggles to correct it after several attempts.

The trick is to first ask it what and why the error is there.

This activates a mechanism that helps Claude 3.5 fix the mistake. I’ll share the prompt for this below.
