First of all, thanks for this awesome tool and congratulations on the decision, to save the data in one single big file for each asset. This minimizes file system overhead and improves copy and backup operations. However, I don’t understand why you didn’t take the chance to improve the speed of file operations. Any mechanical hard drive is being killed by working on 28 Forex pairs simultaneously (single digit megabytes per second). I can’t even work on my computer in parallel, even when using a dedicated hard drive for this. Why not using a queue and let the program work on one asset at a time?

Hello, do you work with older TickDownload or the newer QuantDataManager?

I’m referring to the new QuantDataManager. Another disadvantage of paralyzing file operations are heavily fragmented files.
