Hello,

quick question.

Do we need to run a 1-min tick backtest when we are using indicator based stop-loss?

My understanding is that, if I run on 1-min tick chart, it would take values from 1-min, which would worsen the performance vs timeframe on main chart.

short answer no if your testing timeframe is high enough.

 

However, if it is a lower timeframe strategy then it would be advisable to do so as it is more sensitive to changes in price calculations as you previously hinted at.
