Installation Location – Important Notice

Do not install StrategyQuant X into the default C:Program Files directory.

Due to Windows security restrictions, installing the application in C:Program Files may prevent StrategyQuant X from writing to its internal data files, which can result in malfunction or instability.

Recommended installation paths include:

• C:StrategyQuant
• C:TradingStrategyQuant
• D:SQX
• Any other custom folder with write permissions outside system-protected directories

Installation Process

To install StrategyQuant X:

1. Download the setup program from the official download page:
2. https://strategyquant.com/download/
3. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.

Alternatively, you may download the ZIP archive version, then:

1. Extract the contents to your chosen folder (e.g., C:StrategyQuant)
2. Launch the application by running the executable file from the extracted folder

Post-Installation Steps

After installation, it is critical to integrate the necessary custom indicators into your trading platform. StrategyQuant X uses a standardized set of internal indicators and functions to ensure backtest consistency and eliminate edge case discrepancies.

These indicators are located in the {StrategyQuant}/custom_indicators/ directory of your installation.

MetaTrader 4 / 5

To install the custom indicators in MetaTrader:

1. Open MetaTrader.
2. Navigate to File → Open Data Folder.
3. In the opened directory, go to:
   • MQL4Indicators for MetaTrader 4
   • MQL5Indicators for MetaTrader 5
4. Copy all *.mq4 or *.mq5 files from {StrategyQuant}/custom_indicators/ to the appropriate folder.
5. Restart MetaTrader to compile and load the new indicators.

If you are using multiple MetaTrader installations, repeat this step for each installation.

TradeStation

To install StrategyQuant indicators in TradeStation:

1. Open TradeStation.
2. Go to File → Import/Export EasyLanguage.
3. Choose Import EasyLanguage File (ELD, ELS, or ELA).
4. Select the file:
5. {StrategyQuant}/custom_indicators/Tradestation/SQ.eld
6. Complete the import process.

This step imports all custom functions used by StrategyQuant X, enabling seamless strategy execution within TradeStation.

MultiCharts

To install StrategyQuant indicators in MultiCharts:

1. Open the PowerLanguage Editor.
2. Go to File → Import…
3. Select the file:
4. {StrategyQuant}/custom_indicators/Tradestation/SQ_MC.pla
5. Complete the import.

This imports all required custom functions for running strategies exported from StrategyQuant X in MultiCharts.e
