Is StrategyQuant Right for You?
If you use automated trading systems (also known as robots or Expert Advisors) or if you plan to develop your own trading strategies, StrategyQuant can save you money and hundreds of hours of your time.
Some traders prefer to purchase existing trading robots, and there are many options available, especially in the Forex market. While buying a Forex robot can be effective, you often end up with a "black box" solution. This means you may not know how the robot operates or the specific rules it follows, leaving you at the mercy of its creator, particularly if market conditions change.
StrategyQuant enables you to create your own trading strategies, which can be exported as plain Expert Advisor source code, giving you full control over your approach.
What If You Are a Manual Trader?
Even if you are a manual trader, you can still utilize StrategyQuant to generate trading ideas. You might be surprised to discover many profitable strategies based on relatively simple rules that you hadn’t considered before.
Every strategy created by StrategyQuant can be exported as readable pseudo code that includes a complete description of the trading rules, allowing it to be executed manually as well.
What to Expect
It's important to note that while StrategyQuant is a powerful tool, it is not a magic solution that will generate profits at the click of a button. To achieve good results, it must be used correctly.
Generating new strategies in StrategyQuant is only about 50% of the work. The remaining effort involves evaluating the generated strategies to filter out those that are curve-fitted or not robust enough.
You need to properly assess your new strategies and understand their strengths, weaknesses, and limitations before putting them into live trading. Often, only 1 out of 1,000 profitable strategies generated by StrategyQuant will pass rigorous robustness tests and can be considered for live trading. However, since the number of strategies you can generate is nearly limitless, even 1% of infinity represents a substantial number of potential strategies.
There are several steps involved in evaluating the quality of strategies and measuring their potential success in real live trading. For more information, please refer to the #CROSS-CHECKS-ROBUST_TRADING section.
