Dear Mark,

I have a very important question. How does the ‘max slippage’ parameter works on the pending orders?

It is set to 2 and a the slippage is 10 then it doesn’t let it getting filled? Or it is just for market orders?

The reason I’m asking is that some of my orders were executed 30pips!! below the pending price on a data release and I’d like to know how I could defend myself from this to happen.

The set max slippage was 3, the orders were sell stops.

Thank you for your kind help!

sincerely,

Tamas

Hello,

max slippage applies only to market orders, not to pending orders.

Stop orders are filled at the next market price after the stop level is reached, which could be much worse price than max slippage specifies.

This is how MetaTrader works, there is no way to specify max allowed slippage for pending orders.
