I will start by saying that I am having a severe blonde moment … so apologies if this is a silly question:
I have created a strategy in SQ using Dukascopy data that I have downloaded via the SQ Tick Data Downloader.
Within SQ – I have limit the time range of trading between 21:00 to 23:00 (9pm to 11pm).
I now want to run my EA on a Pepperstone MT4 demo account which has server time of: GMT +3. (current UK time +2)
Once my EA is attached to the MT4 chart – What time range should I select for it to be the same as the time range used in SQ?
Thanks .. and again sorry as I know it’s not a good start ..

Dukascopy data is GMT. So your trading limit is 21:00 to 23:00 GMT.
Pepperstone is GMT +3, so set you trading limit time 00:00 to 02:00
Be careful if Pepperstone change their offset for daylight saving, if they do you will need to move the limits back and forth by the hour on the appropriate dates.

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Understanding the differences between MT4 server time, actual time, and testing time is crucial for effective trading and accurate backtesting. MT4 server time, set by your broker, timestamps all trading activities and may differ from your local time zone. It’s essential to convert server time to your local time for precise trade monitoring. Testing time, used during strategy testing in MT4, allows you to simulate trades over historical data without waiting for real-time conditions. Synchronizing these times ensures accuracy in trading and strategy evaluation. For optimal performance and reliability, consider using a VPS from DedicatedCore.com forex vps plans, which offers robust solutions tailored for mt4/mt5 trading.</span>
