Question about indicator import in SQ3

Hi Mark,

 

Can you tell me if SQ3 actually uses the settings “Is Oscillator” and “Oscillator middle value” and also “Return type” when setting up a custom indicator?

 

What affect on generated rules do these setting have, especially the Oscillator settings?  Are they even considered when generating rules in SQ3?

yes, SQ uses these when strategy rule is negated – this means when opposite rule is created.

 

When indicator is oscillator it creates the opposite condition so that the logic persists.

 

For example RSI oscillates around 50, so for rule RSI >70 it would create an opposite rule RSI < 30
