Hi,

Can anyone here suggest why I see different results, using the same SQ strategy in MetaTrader, same data loaded, same starting deposit and both in USD.

1    2010.01.01 00:00    sell    1    0.83    1.61733    0.00000    0.00000    0.00    10000.00
2    2010.01.01 00:00    modify    1    0.83    1.61733    1.62333    1.59733    0.00    10000.00
3    2010.01.01 03:00    close    1    0.83    1.61685    1.62333    1.59733    34.03    10034.03

and other terminal:

1    2010.01.01 00:00    sell    1    0.83    1.61733    0.00000    0.00000    0.00    10000.00
2    2010.01.01 00:00    modify    1    0.83    1.61733    1.62333    1.59733    0.00    10000.00
3    2010.01.01 03:00    close    1    0.83    1.61685    1.62333    1.59733    39.84    10039.84

Difference in profit for every trade.  Strategy is on GBP/USD?

Thanks,

Mike

Okay I think I worked it out.  One terminal is ECN style broker and the other is not.  The ECN has a commision of $7 per lot.  0.83 * 7 is 5.81, which is the difference between the two profits.

I never realised the backtester took commission into the results, it doesn’t appear anywhere in the backtest results and cannot be changed anywhere….
