mq4 risk in % setting

Hi all, 

 

i am getting crazy of it. How do i set up correctly risk in % in Mt4 backtester? i never used it before an d looks like whatever i choose, its never right. 

 

Could someone edit the attached picture for me and set risk in % to 0.25%

looks right. How big is starting balance and how big are the stop losses?

may be i do not understand the risk in percent at all, check the attached picture please. i thought trade size should increase lineary.

for 10k when i risk 1% it should be 100$, and for 15k it should be 150$, but its not. Why?

It is.
Take into consideration your stop loss. Look at your trade sizes and the stop loss sizes (in pips). When lots are smaller, it means the stop is wider (bigger pips). Its probably a ATR stop or some other kind of volatility stop and the market was probably volatile…

You need more trades than 37 to see it go parabolic. 😉

^ see trades get smaller near end? Volatility stop. Still risking 2% per trade, but less lots because wider stop. This is why %risk is better because it trades smaller in volatile markets, increases size in low volatility markets, and increases size as  account grows. I wish I could beat this into trader’s heads.

oh i seeee, thank you man. 🙂 it confused me, the ATR. when i use 0,25% risk per trade, even ater 600 trades it is not parabolic, so i thought i have a mistake in setting the MM.
