Reverse engineer mq4 to .str files?

Is it possible to derive .str files from MQL files? I have lost the original strategy files to some of my strategies.

yes, it is generally possible. You can look at the MQL file and try to recognize what conditions are used, that shouldn’t be that difficult.

It will be little bit more difficult to recognize the type of order (Market, Stop, Limit) and exit rules used, but it is possible.

But you’ll need to have some programming knowledge, and understand the code at least a little.

Thanks Mark. Sounds like a lot of work for those of us who are not programmers. A pity, I’ll have to be more careful in future.
