where to put birts tick data after download

hello i downloaded tick data with birts tick data download program. where am i supposed to put the tick data?

I think you need to convert the tick data into understandable format for MetaTrader. More info is on the Birt’s site https://eareview.net/tick-data/convert-tick-data

Copy the files from the zip archive to your MT4 data folder. To find out what is your data folder, open MT4, head to File and click Open Data Folder, which will open an explorer window with your MT4 data folder (typically looks like C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\[32_character_hex_string]\).

does anyone know how to find AppData or MetaQuotes?

program files (86) -> meta trader 4 -> meta editor -> right click scripts -> open folder

1. downloaded csv2fxt_v0.50

2. dropped CSV2FXT.mq4 and CSV2FXT.ex4 into Scripts folder

    dropped FXTHeader.mqh into Include folder.

    dropped CsVReader.dll into Libraries folder

3. dropped EURUSD.csv into Files folder

4. opened EURUSD chart inside MT4 terminal

5. selected M1 timeframe on EURUSD chart

6. terminal is connected to broker server

7. Allow DLL imports is checkmarked. does not know how to disable Confirm DLL function calls

8. …

 

boopa26 did seven steps. does not know why backtest EURUSD M1 shows 25% not 99%

 

if any person has done this before any suggestion would be appreciated

Which version of Tick Data Suit are you using? If you’re using the latest v2 to download the tick data, then there shouldn’t be anything that you need to do because v2 is integrated with all your MT4 terminals and it will automatically retrieve the tick data from the TDS Repository location. Basically there’s no need to manually transfer the tick data files if you’re using v2.

after i first bought sq tick downloader 1.1 i received 99% from backtest but now i use a different mt4 terminal and its been a long time so i forgot what settings to adjust to receive 99% from backtest. i think that there are settings to adjust after step 7. so i think i will try again

 

1. with sq tick downloader 1.1 download eurusd data

2. download files from https://eareview.net/tick-data/downloads

3. drop CSV2FXT.mq4 and CSV2FXT.ex4 into Scripts folder

    drop FXTHeader.mqh into Include folder.

    drop CsVReader.dll into Libraries folder

4. drop EURUSD.csv into Files folder

5. open EURUSD chart inside MT4 terminal

6. select M5 period on EURUSD chart

7. confirm terminal is connected to broker server

8. confirm allow DLL imports is checkmarked

9. drop “csv2fxt” script onto eurusd M5 chart inside mt4 terminal

10. run “csv2fxt” script

11. restart mt4 terminal

12. backtest should be 99% on periods M5 and higher. M1 does not do 99% i do not think so
