Just updated the accountdetails.ex4 script to give us the SQ’s “Point Value in $” that we need when we import history data into SQ,
[10/05/2017]¢ Version 2 of the script is here!, now you can see the Point Value in ($) + Pip/Tick STEP + Pip/Tick SIZE, Basicaly all your “Symbol Info” settings in one place! 🙂
*THIS SCRIPT WAS BUILT TO SUIT A USD ACCOUNT AND FOR FX PAIRS ONLY!
USING THIS SCRIPT ON A EUR OR OTHER CURRENCY ACCOUNT / ON CFDS OR OTHER INSTRUMENTS WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS*
Enjoy! 🙂

Hi Karish,
Thanks for the excellent tool “accountdetailsforsq.ex4” .
I wish I had this 3 years ago when I started using SQ and this could have save me dozen of hours figuring it out.
In your accountdetailsforsq.ex4, it also display the spread value from the brokers. Can we use the display spread value and input them directly into the Build Strategies/Setting ?
Thanks

I wouldn’t recommend doing so because the spread that the script shows is the correct spread in that exact time that you executed the script,
what i do is always use a spread of 1 pip and a slippage of 3 pips and then leave all the rest to the MC test, i test the spread from 0~4 pips and slippage from 0~3 pips,
i noticed that there are strategies that oddly change to losing strategies when you use a fixed spread of 3 for example and then when you re-test the strategies on spread of 1 or 2 or even lower they become losing strategies and only working good with the spread value of 3 that was set fixed at the building stage,
in general i would say that you should not use any spread or slippage at the building stage and only filter strategies when using MC to test those,
but it will take too much time and efforts so i would go for 1 pip as for spread and 3 pips for slippage at the building stage.

Hi Karish,
you can ask mark to store this tool on the server. So we can permanent download ist.
If the tool is good it makes sense to integrate this in the SQ ?
I think many people have problem to calculate the correct settings.
I have the same problem.
