I have a question regarding “fastest” way to calculate strategies for custom projects.

I am currently running 3 custom projects at the same time. Each building 1k in the builder stage with 20 tasks in each project which is no problem (reserving one core for UI). Hardware is watercooled overclocked 5950X with 64GB ram.

But, is it better to focus on one project at the time?

From you experience, running 24/7, what is the best way to run SQ?

Hello,

you can watch the resource monitor. If a single project loads your CPU fully running other projects will likely split resources between all of them so you won’t get results faster likely

Hi,

great question, but I’m facing the exact opposite: I have 60 GB of RAM, but the utilization is a meager 2 GB. What am I doing wrong and how can I get SQX into full load mode so that it uses the available 60 GB?

Best,

Gerhard

And – yes: I did set the maximum memory to 60 GB in the configuration menu.

Hi,

try to use a larger population sizes and decimation coefficient for example. You can tune genetic options to utilize more RAM but the overall process efficiency will not differ that much. If the RAM is not needed it is not allocated. You need a lot of RAM only for certain tests and optimization
