Improving Strategy Question

Hi, I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong to get this error but it appears whenever I use the improve strategy and I tell it to only add to the LONG rules rather than “add and replace”

 

I have a very simple strategy just to test what StrategyQuant can do.  “Candlepattern is Hammer”

 

If I set Improve Strategies to “Add or Replace” for this long it works but it just does it’s own thing as it would in build.  If I wanted it just to add more to my strategy I get the following error.

 

“Cannot generate valid candidates under these conditions.

 

Please check the settings of Building Blocks”

 

In building blocks I tried selecting almost everything just to see if it would work and no change.  Any insight into what I’m doing wrong is much appreciated.

Ugh, just figured this one out myself either.  Editing a strategy in Improve strategies tab does not actually take effect even if you click save.  You need to save it as a .str file separately before it works.

Yes, that is true. Clicking “Save” doen’t solve it. You need to manually pick Save -> Strategy file and choose those what You were editing and replace it.
