New Demo User: NinjaTrader Strategy Issue

Hi,

I am having problems getting a Strategy into NinjaTrader.  I copied to the clipboard, pasted it into a new strategy, compiled it, saved it and closed it.  Doesn’t show up when I try to insert it into a chart.  I can see it when I go to edit a strategy but not to insert it.  Any ideas?  I tried restarting Ninja, with no luck.

I actually never did it like that. I just save the ninja code to a file with settings ticked and rename it to .cs. Load it and compile it and then it always work as long as i do not get an compile error wich do happen.

I tried renaming the files.  It wants a zip file to import.  Not sure how to load a .cs file in NT, am I missing something?

Hi you have to save the .cs file to the directory were the strategies are located in ninjatrader. I am traveling but i think it is at ninjatrader/bin/costum/strategies.

Have you loaded the indicators that comes SQ for Ninjatrader.

have you done Post-Installation steps shown in StrategyQuant PDF guide page 12? You should do following

In order to make SQ strategies work with NinjaTrader, you have to import some NinjaTrader scripts into your NinjaTrader.
Open your NinjaTrader, go to File -> Utilities -> Import Ninja Script…
then find the file:
{StrategyQuant}/custom_indicators/SQ_NinjaTrader.zip and import it.

 

This will import all the additional indicators and base classes StrategyQuant uses, so your new strategies will run in NinjaTrader.

I did the post installation instructions.

Hello, if you still have issues making your strategy work in NT you can attach it or send me to [email protected] so I can check whether there isn’t any problem with strategy itself
