Hello
For some of my EA ideas, I need to be able to work with custom indicators in AlgoWizard. Is this possible?
I notice it’s possible with EA Wizard: https://strategyquant.com/doc/eawizard/can-i-use-my-own-custom-indicators-in-ea-wizard/
https://strategyquant.com/eawizard/tutorial_custom_indicators
I do have EA Wizard on my old laptop. I know EAW is no longer being sold/developed, but as I was an original purchaser, if I install it on my new laptop will it still function? In which case I could use EAW for certain projects that AW can’t yet handle. Please confirm.
Many thanks

We don’t want to support custom indicators in AlgoWizard in the same way as in EA Wizadr, because with AlgoWizard we need to backtest them. So every indicator used has to be implemented.
EA Wizard will continue to work, you can install it on a new computer and we’ll reset your license so that you can use it there, just send us an email.

Thanks Mark. It’s good to know, therefore, that my EA Wizard will still work. I was able to reset my license via my dashboard https://strategyquant.com/dashboard-sq/ – didn’t realise I could do that.
I am supportive of AlgoWizard and been playing around with that, and the built-in online backtesting engine is obviously very appealing. However, did you see my email regarding this? The backtesting engine doesn’t appear to be working correctly for my simple strategy. The AlgoWizard-exported mql4 code produces expected results nicely when checked through the Strategy Tester, but the AlgoWizard backtesting engine itself misses some expected results and includes some unexpected ones. I am testing on Dukascopy daily bars and don’t believe can be put down to small price differences. This is really holding me back from pursuing AW further.
Hope you can clarify/resolve this and I will update here accordingly.
Cheers

Helo Simon,
sorry, I’m not aware if your email, maybe one of my colleague was looking at it. But if you think you fond a bug could you open a task in our task system?
If there is a problem we’ll fix it.
