HI
Is anybody using this function successfully in their trading. I can only consider using this function on a high risk scenario with small capital.
Is it possible to limit the number of duplicate trades in any given signal or time period?
thanks

Hello,
currently you can only limit trades by a time range for example. But using AlgoWizard there can be a condition added into the strategy to limit overall lotsize open .
Let’s say you trade 0.1 lot. You can setup a variable totalSize that increase its value with each new trade by 0.1 (AssignVariable action: totalSize = totalSize + 0.1)
You can setup another variable called maxSizeAllowed and set to 0.5 for example.
Finally add a condition line directly into your entry rules like “if totalSize < maxSizeAllowed AND Entry Rule ….”
Using this a trade will be only open when the maxSizeAllowed is not reached
There has to be also a condition that sets the totalSize back to 0 when Market position is Flat (no existing open position)
Let me know if any help needed with this

but “allow duplicate trades” means a little different thing – its in the order types building blocks and by setting in true it means, that if entry condition is met, new order is placed
its not a question of some scaling the next positions…you can have 2 buys opened, or buy and sell…its about the logic of the strategy
and no i am not using this method – its leading only to overtrading – only my opinion

Yes, but with duplicate trades enabled you can easily get into a situation like shown on the screenshot attached.
To bypass doing what I suggested you can easily use the “Market position size” function to limit max total size of multiple trades being open
