Wrong BE + add PIPs ?

Hi!

I use ADD PIPS ( 2 pips ) at the strategy generation.
I use 6 USD / round lot comission.

Still I see losing trades. Why?

HERE THE LOSSES OF -0.12 USD FOR EXAMPLE. THESE TRADES WERE IN BREAKEVEN, AND THEY HAVE LOSS. STRANGE.

Any idea?

are you using spread 2 pips?

I am using 1.5 pips at generating.
And I think, I know, how comissions work. Why do you ask?

So my theory:

– the add +2 PIPs mean for me, that my stop loss is in +20 points in my favour
– if the position WOULD BE 1 lot, than it would be 20 USD in my favour
– but the position is just 0.02 lot, therefore it is just +0.4 USD in my favour
– the comission (6 USD round) would be for 0.02 lots 0.12 USD

Therefore 0.4 USD – 0.12 USD = 0.28 USD

Am I wrong?

your theory is wrong:

commisions is 6 USD per 1 lot, so for 0.02 it will be 0.12 USD – thats true

2 pip move for EURUSD for 0.02 lots will be 0.2 USD

i am afraid that the spread is set for 2 (or there is some bug :)), because the trade ends with the same open price and close price – so the breakaven + 2 – 2 for spred is ZERO

because of that your BE trade with 2 pips added will end as -0.12 USD for 0.02 lots (-2 pips spread + 2 pips BE added – 0.12 USD for commision)

For some reason seems the spread is not considered with SL move to BE. I will check with developers whether this is intentional

So currently only slippage and commission affect the resulting values
