Dear SQX Team,

i would like to propose a new comparison in addition to the true for x bars comparison, which checks if a certain condition was met -at least once – over a specified range of bars. Currently, this can only be achieved through a custom if-then-action, and hence not be used as a random block. Hence, it would be great, if this simple check could be introduced as soon as possible.

I believe that such comparison would come quite handy. Here are two potential use cases for illustration:

  • Imagine you want to wait for some confirmation in a trend reversal, you might want to have a signal occured somewhere in the nearby past, but you do not necessarily care if it was one bar, or three bars ago, e.g. you might want to check only if MACD Hist crossed the zero line in the last 5 bars (true in condition) at least somewhere and then wait for volume to rise 2 consecutive bars (true for condition) to enter the trade.
  • Conversely, you might also want to check, e.g., to confirm a bull flag breakout, that there was no higher close e.g. over the last 3 bars (false in condition) which is not the same as confirming that there were three consecutive lower closes.

I hope that this request make sense and would love to see that feature implemented in upcoming versions. It should not be too complicated either 🙂

Best,

Paul

Hi, thank you for your suggestion. It of course makes sense.

I can suggest this to our dev team. If this can be implemented from the technical point of view it will be.
