Connection Lost

i did not find anything in the forum search so i open a new topic:

My broker switch of the connection every friday for 20 seconds because he change the margin over the weekend. When the reconnect is succesful, and some trades was opend by some ea`s, they are still working with the open trades or they “loose the control” about this open trades?

EA should keep working normally since you reference your trades / orders by a magic number. EA just waits for another market tick to re-evaluate current situation

that is not easy to say because you can not see, when they loose the control because there is no replay or something from them. The same thematic we have with the open orders. They will be always open, doesn’t matter if you are sometimes offline or not but the question is: Are they still under control when you go offline and online again or the ea’s loose them and they are out of scope, so the ea’s start like before nothing was happend?

After testing and take care specially on this I can say: No reasons to be scared when the connection get lost. The Ea’s are still working, when they go online again.

that is a good point actually. The most important thing is to always have stop-loss order placed in the market. Even in situations where your strategy does use a different exit method like “exit rule” or “end-of-day” exits because if your server fails or MT crashes and that exit rule cannot be applied you need to be sure your account is always protected in the markets. Such protective stop-loss needs to be set large enough it has no impact on strategy performance
