Newbie question about SQX training / educational material

Hi everyone,

As a newbie to algo trading, I’ve spent the last two weeks diving deep into StrategyQuant and watching various video tutorials, such as how to create a mean-reversion strategy for example. In the video, this was described as an ‘easy-to-build’ strategy. However, after watching it, I ended up with more questions than answers. I can’t help but feel that if <em class=”eujQNb” data-sfc-root=”c” data-sfc-cb=”” data-complete=”true” data-processed=”true”>that was supposed to be easy, I might never be able to implement more complex strategies. The software is incredibly versatile, but that also makes it feel less than intuitive—at least, that’s my impression so far.

I had actually already decided to buy it, but after seeing the content, I’m feeling uncertain. I’m worried about owning great software but lacking the skills to use it correctly and profitably.

Did anyone else feel this way at the beginning? How understandable are the Ebook and the videos for users who have absolutely no background in algo coding?
