Hello, I’m new to SQX and currently stuck on the Data part for time zones in forex.
I have read that most brokers today use GMT+2/+3 to get full 24h candles instead of 2 incomplete ones on Friday and Sunday when using UTC time. Apparently its annoying to H4 or D1 timeframe Traders.

So if my broker uses GMT+2 when NY is observing EST and changes to GMT+3 when NY is observing DST for the platform server and their server (broker) is set to NY close, meaning that 00:00 on the platform coincides with 5pm in NY time, what Data settings for Time zones do I need to select in SQX because everything is in UTC+0 by default ?

Thx

Hello,

you could be using the first in the list EST+7 if you need UTC+2 with US ET DST

Ok. I thought EST+7 was a bug since it is not a time zone like UTC.

Instead I thought it had to be UTC+7 to make sense.

So EST+7 is UTC+2 with US DST. So in summer due to DST, EST+7 goes to UTC+3 ?

If that’s the case I will try the first option.

Personally just set my time zone and do not translate the time myself. I don’t know if I’m doing it right, but this is my personal experience. So far everything is working well.
