SQ X updates

Here’s where we can discuss SQ X updates nad news.

This topic was renamed from SQ4 Early preview. The old, no longer relevant posts are or will be deleted and archived.

The point is in clearing up our forum from old, non-relevant stuff.

Questions:
The SQX programming guide doesn’t explain the following:
1) How to code a multi-time frame indicator, or to code a trading signal based on multi-time frame indicators.
For example, how to code a BUY signal if the moving average higher than close price at each of these three timeframes: 1 hour, 30 minutes, 5 minutes.
Do we need to import historical data for the related timeframe, e.g.: AUDUSD 1 hour, AUDUSD 30 min, AUDUSD 5 min from DukasCopy? Or, the SQX will compute accordingly, e.g.: from tickdata.

2) How to code an indicator based on various FX pair prices. For example, I have an indicator to calculate 8 outputs (EUR, USD, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD, NZD) based on close prices of 28 fx pairs.
I can do that in MQL4. Can we do that in SQX Java custom indicator?

3) How to display the custom indicator? For example, can I attached into a 1-hour chart and display my indicator in that chart, so that I can be sure the custom code is really working as expected?
If this feature is not available, please include this in the new release as this is pretty important for making sure our code is working without bug.

Also, when reporting bug, screenshot is usually not enough, you should provide also the strategy (.sqx) – if the problem is related to strategy, or build config – if it is related to build.

Globegains – it looks like this problem could be related to upgrade to Java 11 in the latest build. It seems this is the cause of crash. We’ll investigate it further, and

yudhiyu – rigth now we don’t support multi-chart indicators, nor there is a way to see them on the chart. But it is something that will be possible in the near future. We’ll be also extending our programming documentation with more examples.

On page 56 of the User Manual, there is ‘ranking criteria here’ link. But the link is broken (please see the snapshot in the attached image).  Can you send me the file?

Thanks for reporting it, we’ll fix the link.  Ranking criteria are in the chapter in the end of Users guide.

Announcement – Build 113 has just been released.

It is mostly bugfix update, we fixed many reported issues an dimproved a few things in the program. It should be now also more stable and faster in genetic evolution.

I forgot one more thing – if you are upgrading from previous version you might see an error message about StrategyModifier upon first start. Just restart SQ and it will work.

It looks like great improvement in performance with Zulu SDK!

What version will I have if I already have a license? Proffesioniel or Ultimate?

That would be very interesting because of the point “Lifetime support & upgrades “

Marcel, if you have purchased your license before 15.10.2018 you have Pro license with lifetime updates. If you purchased it after the change of our licensing terms then you have Pro license with one year updates.

Ultimate license has some other benefits except lifetime updates.

Mike – we’ll look at the installer issue.

I know that there are other differences between Pro and Ultimate but I am more interested in getting UPGRADES in the future and not just UPDATES!

So the question is whether I will get upgrades in the future ?

I’m not sure what is your difference between upgrades and updates, I use them in an interchangable way in this context.

Everybody who purchased the license before change of licensing terms on 15.10.2018 is entitled to lifetime upgrades to the newest version of SQ.

For licenses purchased after that date the upgrades are for one year and can be extended every year for a fee.

X113 stop after 2 hrs  with the green start bottom , repeated many times (each time) . it was reported in bug reporter.

Perhaps are you referring to the “All future addon modules included *” referred to on the pricing page?

From what I can see that’s the only real difference between the Professional and Ultimate options other than whether you get updates for a year or lifetime, which Mark has explained above if you’re entitled to.

* Mark, I’d stick with the term ‘update’, to me an ‘upgrade’ implies new features are included while for an ‘update’ it would be optional.
i.e. If you offered me a free ‘upgrade’ for my Professional license is would expect you are offering me the Ultimate package.
If you told me I was getting an ‘update’ I would expect I am getting a new version of my current software (which might include new features at your discretion).

I have a Professional license with lifetime updates as I purchased <15/10/18, so my expectation is that I will get every new version of the main SQX software ongoing in perpetuity (SQXI, SQXII … SQMMCMXCIX).  :p
Will I be getting the Addon Modules for free also? I expect I’ll have to pay if I want those…

What will the Addon Modules be? As a guess I’d say the items listed at the bottom of the Features page:

• Optimization profile, Parameter permutation method
• NinjaTrader (C#), Quantopian (Python)
• Deep Neural Networks in trading
• Grid support

I’d think that the first two would most like be included as ‘updates’, while I expect the Neural and Grid items to be paid addons.
