Hi,

we just released new SQ 4 update, there were few changes related to this.,

The new version is renamed to StrategyQuant X, and we’ll not have versions but builds – because we are releasing new update every two weeks it is better to count it in builds. So the current release is Build 106.

We made a lot of fixes and stability improvements, program speed was also improved.

There are still some remaining issues, we’ll cover them in the next update.

Mark i love you! ahahahah Sorry but this time the version is great, is a thunderbolt of speed! (very good choice do not save the strategy on the disk, but only on ram)
by the way please implement the csv exporting of stats on the next 107 build, pleeeease, thanks.

Dear All.

I am facing a huge CPU challenge. With the last RC5 and Release X my cpu load is above 90% all the time – and cannot do anything else. How are your PCs behaving and how have you managed to calm your CPUs? Thanks for sharing

Open Taskmanager ( ctrl alt del), go to  details and  scroll to find Strategyquant , left click on it and choose affinity. Now change the amount of threads it is allowed  to use.

Hello Mabi, Thanks for the tip. I have set it to 4/8 and now running at about 50% with the basic default settings. I will see how things go with other functions. Your input is much appreciated.

It is still unclear why CPU problems arose following the last 2 StrategyQuant versions!

Under Settings/Performance you can setup how many cores and memory software is going to use!

if your CPU is very high you should also use less islands if you use evolution.
Your number of islands shouldn’t be bigger than your CPU cores, otherwise your computer will have too much work.

We remade the parallel processing in the last 2 versions, before that it wasn’t working correctly in all scenarios. Now SQ can use all CPU cores.

Thanks for your insight; that is exactly what I have been doing without much success.

I decided to try mt5 hedging engine and to my amazement the same strategies produced completely different results using mt4 engine vs mt5 engine, which one should I believe? I also had several difficulties finding strategies with mt5 hedging engine, same settings mt4 would produce more than 100 systems while mt5 produced 0. (I checked spreads and comissions so that was not the cause of the difference between them)

When Windows group the threads which it does if  Your system have more then 64  threads SQ can only use 1 group. It is okey thought since You might wanna diverisfy on multipel SQ sessions with diffrent settings.

I’m currently weening myself off the addiction to SQ3. SQ4 is truly a powerful piece of kit, I’m overwhelmed!! Thank you SQDEVT!!!
