it is not normal, but it depends also on how much data are you using. Has SQ X  worked normally before with the same settings?

Yep, MC testing & RET/DD ratios are really bugged in this release..

If find the new feature “Optimization Profile and System Parameter” very good.

Yes, the performance upgrade is CRAZY. Gone from 50000 to 150000 per hour here with the same settings as before.

However, Mark, how could you remove the “Shift” values from user-config, breaking any price based strategies and many of my ones that use shifted indicators with great success, oh my 😉 🙂

One question Mark: I was always wondering where SQ gets it´s “Level” values from if not using the preset building blocks but just the normal indicators? I know that we can configure the level values for the preset building blocks, but how does SQ come up with the levels if not using the preset building blocks and we have those disabled? Is this coming just from the “Number” variable in the normal indicator blocks? And if so, how does it come up with a number there, given that many indicators have a vastly different level value? MACD for example could need a number like 0.0024 but RSI might need a number like 43 to make sense, others might need 1000 or whatever. Does SQ simply randomly generate numbers between -100000 and +100000 with 0.0001 step size? I somehow doubt that and if not, how can we configure the levels that the indicators really need if *not* using the preset indicators block? Because in the normal Indicators block, there is no way to configure the level for any of the indicators that do use a level actually.

When you look at the snippet source code, or at its default configuration, there is a Level parameter with min and max settings. It is generated randomly in this range.

Every indicator has a different range.

Here is an example how it is defined in “CCI is lower than Level” block (CCILower.java) :

@Parameter(defaultValue=”0″, minValue=-300, maxValue=300, builderMinValue=-120, builderMaxValue=120, step=5)
public double Level;

values builderMinValue and builderMaxValue are used as range boundaries in builder.

You can also edit it in the block configuration in Settings -> Building blocks

this version seems much better, with no stop no crash happened so far, and the generating is also seems to be fast, thank you for the hard working of your team. i tried the wizard the tab click is slow responsive and after half minute it comes note window :  “slow response app will restart…”

will report a ticket for that.

Thanks for the reply Mark, I know that I can set the levels there as you´ve explained too, but you might have missed that I´ve mentioned that I am wondering where it takes the level values from if I *DISABLE* all the entries in “Signals (Predefined conditions)” and only leave everything in “Indicators” enabled. Because there are no Level values to be defined within the “Indicators” section, only in the “Signals (Predefined conditions)”. So where does SQ take the level values from if building completely without the  “Signals (Predefined conditions)” blocks and only with the “Indicators” block?

Hi All,

Selecting of databank segment for save, copy or delete – How?

You may already know to perform this very simple and basic task – so help me. How are you selecting a segment of the strategies in the databank for copying, deletion or whatever you want to do? I did request Mark to enable the highlight, shift, control buttons but seems there have been more important tasks than this. I have not been able to manage my databank due to this small problem. Any assistance will be much appreciated.

on Build 114 I can easily select strategies by clicking into the database 1 time (just on some random place there) and then holding shift and using the arrow up or down key to select strategies from the databases.

Thanks Geektrader. Seems to work – good compromise. How do you unselect? Go via the route of select all and then unselect?
