Here’s where we can discuss SQ X updates nad news.
This topic was renamed from SQ4 Early preview. The old, no longer relevant posts are or will be deleted and archived.
The point is in clearing up our forum from old, non-relevant stuff.

Have the new, final SQ X been released? Build 112 is done in the roadmap. But I find that it is build 111 yet in betaversion. (https://strategyquant.com/betaversion4)
And There will be build 113 plan, and many other known issues.

Hi Mark, I am not aware StrategyQuant X has been released. I have not received an email or download link. Could you please update me/us what has happened or whether indeed this has been released to a select few?

@jojo you can use the internal updater to update to 112
Thanks for your tip. I have mostly avoided updating SQ that way in order to have a clean installation. If the updater is working that is good news.

No question, the pricing is spot on for what this thing can do – despite of the bugs, once they are all fixed, this is hands down the most flexible trading system generator out there. If you look at other platforms with less features, they charge up to $60.000 per YEAR!
Anyhow, it would be interesting what the new licensing model and it´s upgrade policy mean for us SQ3 owners which had got a “free” full license for SQX too – what plan have we been assigned too? Starter / Professional / Ultimate? That would be very interesting because of the updates and how long we´d get them.
Thanks!

Exit SQ 111 and re-start it. The program should tell you that version 112 is available and ask if you want to upgrade. Select Yes and it will install the new version over build 111.
Never give up!

60k a year with a disclaimer that they do not take any responsibility if it do not work , hope noone buys something like that. I expect to have life time updates since thats the License i have no new wording can change that.

No guarantee on that 60k generator, but it has won several contests with the systems it generated.
Yes, but your lifetime license if for SQ3, not SQ X 😉

Well, to be honest i expect all the “old” users will get Ultimate license, as it is for what they paid – lifetime upgrades.
Money from those SQ3 users allowed Mark to make the team which created the new X.
But everrything can happen, when it goes about money…

Questions:
The SQX programming guide doesn’t explain the following:
1) How to code a multi-time frame indicator, or to code a trading signal based on multi-time frame indicators.
For example, how to code a BUY signal if the moving average higher than close price at each of these three timeframes: 1 hour, 30 minutes, 5 minutes.
Do we need to import historical data for the related timeframe, e.g.: AUDUSD 1 hour, AUDUSD 30 min, AUDUSD 5 min from DukasCopy? Or, the SQX will compute accordingly, e.g.: from tickdata.
2) How to code an indicator based on various FX pair prices. For example, I have an indicator to calculate 8 outputs (EUR, USD, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD, NZD) based on close prices of 28 fx pairs.
I can do that in MQL4. Can we do that in SQX Java custom indicator?
Thx.

Sorry for not announcing it here, but the last few days before release were hectic. You can install new version by just starting the installer again for clean installation, or SQ X should update also automatically if you have older version.
You can also download installer here: https://strategyquant.com/download
As for licensing and updates for existing SQ 3 users – SQ X is a new version of SQ, and EVERYBODY who bought SQ before the change of licencing on 15.10.2018 midnight has LIFETIME upgrades. So you can upgrade to SQ X, we didn’t cut you out.
Your “old” version of license is almost like Ultimate license, with the exception that much more expensive Ultimate license also means that these users will get also all the potentially paid modules for free – if we’ll release some paid addons to SQ X in the future.
