StrategyQuant Marketplace: How to Find, Download and Share Extensions

The StrategyQuant Marketplace is a catalog of ready-made extensions for StrategyQuant X (SQX). You can find strategies, templates, indicators, plugins and more. Some are free, and some are included in a membership.

This article shows how the Marketplace works. You will learn how to find a product, how to download and install it, and how to share your own extension with other users.

What is the Marketplace?

The Marketplace is a library of files that you can use inside StrategyQuant X. Every product is a package. It can contain a strategy, a template, a custom block, a plugin and similar items.

The Marketplace has two parts that work together:

• The website. You can browse and search the catalog, and read about every product. You do not need an account to browse.
• StrategyQuant X. The same Marketplace is also available inside the application. This is where you install products with one click.

The website and the application show the same products. What you can download is the same in both places.

The Marketplace inside StrategyQuant X

You do not have to use the website. The Marketplace is built into StrategyQuant X. Click Marketplace in the menu on the left side of the application. The page you see is the same Marketplace as on the website, so you get the same products, categories and filters.

The application adds a few things that make installing easier:

• Search box. Type a name in the Search products field at the top to find a product.
• Only mine e Installed only. After you sign in, two more filters appear. Only mine shows the products you shared. Installed only shows the products that are already installed on this computer.
• Install button. Every free product has an Installare button right in the list.
• Log in / Log out. Use the button in the top right corner. You sign in with your StrategyQuant portal account. Without it you can browse, but you cannot install or share.

Click a product to open its page inside the application. It looks the same as on the website. The Installare button is next to each file of the product.

What can you find there?

Products are grouped in categories. The category tree is on the left side of the page. The number next to each name shows how many products are inside.

A product can be listed in more than one category. For example, some templates are shown under both Forex and Futures.

How to find a product

Filter by category

Click a category on the left. The list shows only the products from that category. A small tag at the top shows the active filter. Click Clear all to remove it.

Filter by price

Under the category tree you will find the Prezzo filter. It has four options:

• Tutti: every product.
• Gratuito: products that cost nothing.
• Paid: products with a price.
• Included in tier: products that come with a membership, such as ELITE.

Sort the list

Utilizzare il Sort by menu above the list. You can sort by:

• Più recente
• Most downloaded
• Price: low to high
• Price: high to low

List view and grid view

The two buttons in the top right corner change the look of the page. The list view is compact and shows more products at once. The grid view shows large cover images, the version, the number of downloads and a More Info pulsante.

Ricerca

Utilizzare il Search products box at the top of the Marketplace tab in StrategyQuant X. Type a word, for example evasione, and the list shows only the products that match. You can combine the search with the category and price filters. Click the small x in the box to clear the search.

Understand the labels

Every product shows how you can get it:

• Gratuito: free for every user.
• ELITE o ULTIMO: the product is included in that membership.
• Members only: you need an account to get it.

The product page

Click a product to open its page. Everything you need is on one page.

The page has these parts:

• Title and tags. The author and the categories of the product.
• Cover image and short description. A quick idea of what the product does.
• Price box. It shows if the product is free or part of a membership. This is also where the action button is.
• Files. The files in the package, with their size.
• Details. The version, the dates of publishing and the last update, the type, the author and the StrategyQuant X version the product needs. Some products show more, for example the number of blocks.

Below the cover there are two tabs.

Details tab

This is the full description. Most products explain what is inside, how to use it, what was tested and which StrategyQuant X version is required. It also lists important notes. Please read them before you use the product.

Changelog tab

The Changelog shows every version of the product with its date. When the author publishes an update, the new version appears here.

How to sign in

To install or share products you must sign in to the StrategyQuant portal. Use the same account that you used to buy your StrategyQuant X license. The portal knows your license from this account. This is how it decides what you can download and share.

There is no password to remember. The portal uses a magic link:

1. Cliccare Accedi (in the Marketplace tab of StrategyQuant X or on the website).
2. Type the email address of your account.
3. Confirm the short security check (“Verifying you are human”).
4. Cliccare Email me a sign-in link.
5. Open your mailbox and click the link in the email. You are signed in.

The link works only once and it expires after a short time. If it expires, request a new one.

Importante: because the link comes by email, you need a valid email address that you can open right now. Use the email of your license account.

If you cannot open the link on the same computer, there are two other options on the sign-in page. You can use I already have a one-time code and type the code from the email. This is useful inside StrategyQuant X, because the link would open in your web browser, not in the application. You can also use Sign in with another device.

How to download and install products

Free products

1. Aprire la sezione Marketplace tab in StrategyQuant X.
2. Cliccare Accedi and sign in. A free product is still tied to your account.
3. Open the product and click Installare next to the file. You can also click Install directly in the list.
4. StrategyQuant X downloads the file and checks that it is not damaged. Then it installs the package into your utente cartella.

After you get a free product, it stays in your account forever. You can install it again at any time.

Products included in a membership

Some products are part of a membership such as ELITE or ULTIMATE. The price box says Included with membership. If you have an active membership, you can download them like free products. If you do not, the files stay locked.

Products that you buy separately stay yours, even if a membership ends later.

Paid products

When a product has a price, the button leads to a secure checkout. The checkout opens in your web browser. When the payment is done, return to StrategyQuant X. The product is now unlocked and you can install it.

What you need

• The StrategyQuant portal account that you used to buy your license. You sign in with a magic link sent to your email, so you need a valid email address.
• A StrategyQuant X license or a running trial. Downloads need it, also for free products.

Where the files go

The files are placed in the right folder for you. The product page tells you what to do next. For example, a template installs into the Builder templates. After the installation you pick it in the Builder. A custom blocks package puts an XML file into extend/Sources. Then you import it in AlgoWizard.

Suggerimento: Always read the Come si usa e Requisiti parts of the product description. Check the required StrategyQuant X version before you install.

Data and broker settings

Some strategies, templates and projects use a certain data symbol and data engine. StrategyQuant X does not convert them for you. If the symbol is missing on your computer, it may be replaced by another one. After the install, set the data to your own symbol and broker. The description of the product tells you what the author used.

Uninstall

You can remove an installed product in StrategyQuant X. The application asks you to confirm first. The product stays in your account, so you can install it again later.

How to upload your plugin to the Marketplace

The Marketplace is also a community place. You can share what you built, for example a plugin, a custom block, a template or a strategy, with other StrategyQuant X users. You do this directly in the application. You do not need to make a ZIP file yourself. You pick the files from your StrategyQuant X folder, and the application packs and uploads them.

• Sign in with Accedi in the Marketplace tab, using the account of your license (see “How to sign in” above).
• You need a full StrategyQuant X license to share.
• Community products are free. Only StrategyQuant can publish paid products.
• Every extension is reviewed by StrategyQuant. Dangerous, duplicate and cloned extensions are not approved (see “Review” below).
• Put the files you want to share into your StrategyQuant X utente folder, for example into extend (plugins and code) or strategie.
• Prepare a cover image. The limit is 5 MB. You can add up to 5 more pictures for the product page.

Step 1. Open the Share dialog

Aprire la sezione Marketplace tab and click Share extension in the top bar. A window called Share a product opens. At the top, a yellow note tells you that your submission will be reviewed before it is published.

Step 2. Describe your product

Fill in the form on the left side. Fields with a red star are required.

• Title. A short and clear name.
• Description. One or two sentences. This text is shown in the product list.
• Detailed description. The long text for the product page. The editor has bold, italic, headings, lists, quotes, links and images. Explain what the product does, how to install and use it, and which StrategyQuant X version you tested.
• Category. The main place of your product in the catalog, for example Plugin o Indicatori.
• Additional categories. Optional. You can choose up to 10 more categories.
• Version. The format is three numbers, for example 1.0.0.
• Author. Filled in for you from your license.

Step 3. Pick the files to share

On the right side you see the folders of your StrategyQuant X installation. Tick the files or folders that belong to your product. If you tick a folder, everything inside it is included. The counter at the top, for example (1 selected), shows how many items you picked. Use the Filter files box to find a file fast.

System folders such as dati, log e impostazioni are hidden, so you cannot share them by mistake.

Step 4. Add pictures

Scroll down in the form. Click Add image next to Cover image and choose a picture (maximum 5 MB). The cover is shown in the catalog, so pick a clear one. The Details gallery is optional. You can add up to 5 more pictures, for example screenshots. They appear under the cover on the product page.

Step 5. Submit

Cliccare Invia at the bottom of the window. The application uploads your files. You can click Cancel at any time to close the window without sharing anything.

Review

Every extension is reviewed by StrategyQuant before people can see it. This protects the community, because extensions contain code and files that run on your computer. After you submit, your product waits for review. When the team approves it, it appears in the catalog. If the team sends it back, you will see a note that explains why. Fix the problem and submit again.

Si prega di notare:

• Every extension goes through a review by StrategyQuant. We reserve the right to reject an extension that breaks the terms and conditions.
• We do not approve plugins that can be potentially dangerous. This includes anything that could harm your computer, your data or your trading account.
• We do not approve duplicate or cloned extensions. If your extension is the same as, or a copy of, another product in the Marketplace, it will be rejected. Please share only your own original work.

My extensions

Cliccare My extensions to see the products you shared and their review status. You can also use the Only mine filter in the catalog. Until you share something, the page says No shared products yet.

Below your shared products you find My library. It lists the products you already got, free or paid, with a Scaricare button. You can download them again at any time.

From My extensions you can also:

• Edit and resubmit a product that was sent back.
• Cancellare a product. You cannot delete it after other users have already downloaded it.

Publish an update

A published product does not change by itself. To release a new version, click Aggiornamento on your product. You change the details or the files, raise the version number and write release notes. The update goes through the review as well.

While the update is in review, the old version stays online and users can still download it. When the update is approved, it replaces the old version. The link and the download count stay the same. The release notes appear on the Changelog tab.

Nota: Deleting a shared product from the Marketplace does not remove the files from your own computer.

Good to know

• Products are tools and examples. They are not investment advice. Past performance is no guarantee of future results.
• Strategy results in the descriptions are backtest results.
• Always test a strategy on your own data before you trade with it.
• Official products from StrategyQuant show the author name StrategyQuant. Community products show the name of their author.

Quick summary
